Because you see, it is more than a simple problem of finding the sequence.
It is an alchemical formula for expanding perception.
I'll leave it to you to figure out why.
I will say this about it--it requires input from lots of people to unravel the mystery. It benefitted me to see the answers of other people. That's when the curtain parted, and I saw the treasure hidden within the numbers.
And so I keep getting more and more insight from this one simple game of numbers. Every time I interact with it, I get a wider perception. It is a wonderful combination of sequential logic and inspiration and mysticism.
And I had to resign myself to the fact that not everyone would be able to find the treasure and that most people would be content with playing this game at the surface level, thinking they had seen all there was to see and then become bored or irritated and move on. And so another insight for me...The beauty I find in this, is not for everyone. Nor should I expect it to be. Other people gain insights from other things. And that's as it should be.
But it is in my nature to want to share what I am seeing in the cosmos with others. "Oh look!" the four year old in me wants to say excitedly, while I dance and clap my hands.
A much younger friend and I were talking about the exchange of wisdom. I was saying that Yes, we Elder Ones do have wisdom to share, but the Younger Ones see things from a different perspective, and have just as much wisdom to share with us. I said to her..."I share my KNOWING and You share your KNOWING--This enriches us all."
And this KNOWING comes from how we process our experiences. And there is much there below the surface of every life form.
This is another insight I received from the numbers, which is synchronistic for me. What is hidden in plain sight? What is camouflaged? What are we looking at that our eyes can not discern from our surroundings, and our brains can not interpret? What is THERE--but not SEEN?
And this can apply on any level, from being in a room full of people who we don't really see to not seeing the fabric of the space we are moving through.
The input and perspective of other people is crucial to expanding awareness. Even when that perspective seems diametrically opposed to our own. Without it, we would not be able to expand consciousness. We would stagnate.
I recently saw an interview on a news station I usually avoid at all costs, with a political figure I absolutely do NOT see eye to eye with. She smiled serenely and rattled off her piece like she had memorized it, talking over the interviewer at times to finish her scripted answers. But what struck me was the language she used. She kept referring to people who did not hold her same political convictions as "Our Enemies".
Later that same day I read a comment from a woman on a Facebook post and she used the same language, referring to "Our Enemies". In true synchronistic style, it was in with the comments on that same post with the number game I have been talking about. It chilled me to read it. Yes, but it also was crucial to my quest. It was part of the A-ha I got from this post about the numbers.
This morning I was reading the heartfelt blog post of someone whose perspective is on the complete opposite end of the spectrum from the politician with the surreal smile. But what struck me reading his current post, was that he was just as passionate in his hatred for people who did not think as he does. And what he shared in common with the politician was that he saw 99% of the people as evil (or to use the politician's words, he saw them as enemies).
I submit for your observation that neither of these perspectives are right or wrong. They are just perspectives. And I see the joke in that they both share the same belief that the world is full of enemies, and that their hatred of people who do not think as they do is justified. This is the bond they share. They are the same. And there is no denying it.
I am not so invested in my hatred of what I see wrong with the world, that I can not wake up with every new day that dawns and see that every being on this planet is emanating from the same source. An expression of the Divine. (But that's another blog post.)
Blessings to us all as we wade through the world loaded down with our beliefs and prejudices, our loves and hates, our shining lights and our deepest dark. We are a blend of all the things we find beautiful and all the things we find ugly.
I'll leave you with this thought--
