I work with Animals and their Human family members to provide holistic alternatives for well being, because I want to change how people think about their healthcare options. Because animals don't conveniently get sick during regular veterinary office hours--of course they don't. You end up with the uneasy feeling that something is wrong, just about 6 O' clock in the evening, and you watch closely. By bed time, you're phoning the animal emergency hospital to see if they can take you. And then you sit and worry and wonder and wait in the animal emergency rather than snoozin' away in your own comfy bed. I have been there and it sucks.
When I was 9 years old, I wanted to be a veterinarian that healed animals by singing to them. When I was 12, I wanted to be a marine biologist who would swim in the ocean and work with whales. That dream was probably left over from the time I wanted to be a mermaid when I was 7. So I guess I could even say that there were times in my life when I wanted to BE an animal. Have I mentioned, I really loved animals?
"Now hold on", I hear you saying, "a certified who/what?"
OK. The quick version is this: The BodyTalk system is a system of various healing techniques and philosophies, taken from Western medicine, Chinese medicine, Ayur Veda, and some other philosophies in healing, organized into a protocol which allows the practitioner a free flow navigation of intuitive information about the animal or person who is having the session. It's very much a client/practitioner interface. It is a holistic consciousness based way to treat the body on all levels--physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. It works whether the client is in the same room as the practitioner, or whether they are on opposite sides of the planet, and it works on humans and animals and even plants--anything with consciousness.
So I work with animals and their human family members and I'll explain what I mean.
Think about it like this. Most families are made up of a combination of human beings and animal beings. There is an energy bond which forms around this type of relationship, which defines itself as family or tribe or community, etc.
Whatever word you use to describe it, there is no denying the powerful impact that one member of the family has on another member - or on the family as a whole. If you've ever had someone in the family who is exhibiting disruptive behavior, or who is sick, or stressed out, you know what I'm talking about--it can affect everyone. By the same token, one joyous family member can change the mood of the entire family for the better.
If your pet is THAT JOYOUS FAMILY MEMBER, you know how valuable their contribution can be to your whole family dynamic. Animals add so much to the value of our lives. For some, they even become a reason for living. Naturally, you want to take good care of them. You shelter them, you feed them well, make sure they have water, maybe you take them to the vet once a year. And you take them for walks, play with them or include them in family activities.
I believe in the body's natural ability to heal, and it is my job to help facilitate that.
OK, now this post is getting too long for one reading. So I'm going to continue tomorrow by telling you some stories about my experiences working with animals.
For now here is the link I promised you.
